George A. Romero
He was born on 4 February 1940, New York City, New York, USA. He was interested in filmmaking when he was young. After graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University, he worked in the industrial film business making commercials and shorts. He make his first feature film in 1968 called Night go the Living Dead. It was a very low budget film similar to cult film. It was both critically and commercially successful. He later continued making this film into a trilogy called Dawn of the Living Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead (1985).
He is well known for his low budget zombie films. He also directed other types of film and TV show like Creepshow (1980), Martin (1978), Tales From the Darkside (1984-1986). He was nicknamed The grandfather of zombies.
