Lars von Trier

He was born on 30 April 1956, Copenhagen, Denmark. He graduated from Danish Film School. He made his first feature Forbrydelsens element (1984). It grabbed an international attention with its unique style. It a combination of the German Expressionism and film noir style. He used the yellow-tinted monochrome cinematography technique to produce the visual. He was famous for the creepy violation in his films. His later films were Epidemic (1987), Twin Peaks (1990), Europa (1991). In 2000, he made a musical feature Dancer in the Dark (2000)  and won the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
