Luchino Visconti

He was born on 2 November 1906, Milan. He was an Italian theatre and film director. His early career was an assistant director to Jean Renoir in 1935. His first film was Ossessione (1942). His films was influenced by the Neorealism. He later directed a documentary drama La terra trema (1948), Senso (1954), Rocco and His Brothers (1960), The Leopard (1963), The Damned (1969), and Death in Venice (1971). His film Leopard (1963) won the Golden Palm award at Cannes Film Festival 1971.
