Bob Rafelson

He was born on 21 February 1933, New York City, New York, USA. He is an Hollywood film director, writer and producer. His father was a hat manufacturer. His uncle was a famous screenwriter Samson Raphaelson. His most famous film was Five Easy Pieces (1970) starring Jack Nicholson. He produced a TV series The Monkees. He and Jack Nicholson has been friends for a long time and together they made Head (1968). He directed Nicholson in four more film, including The King of Marvin Gardens (1972), The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), Man Trouble (1992), and Blood and Wine (1996).

His works was influenced by the noir writers James M. Cain, Raymond Chandler, and Dashiell Hammett.
